This historical home -- designed by the first woman to graduate in architecture from MIT, -- features large windows that flood the house with natural light and provide views of the private garden, high ceilings, and original architecture details such as build-ins. Mature trees shade in summer.

The Cottage Farm neighborhood offers leafy suburban streets but also easy access to downtown Boston and nearby suburbs by public transport, Storrow and Memorial Drives and the Mass Pike. Restaurants and shops are only a block away as are parks and a nature reserve. Walk to Medical Area, Boston University, and Northeastern.
On the first floor of this family home, there is a large foyer, living and dining rooms (both with fire places), a study with access to the patio and garden, the kitchen area, which is air conditioned, (butler's pantry, kitchen, breakfast room and mud room), and a half bath.
The second floor has three bedrooms that sleep 6 and a study (with fireplace). Each bedroom has its own bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed, one has a full bed, and one has two twin beds. Two bedrooms and the study overlook the private garden with patio and fountain. Bedrooms and study are air conditioned and have ceiling fans. All have been freshly painted or papered and the floors refinished.
Fully furnished with hardwood floors, fine rugs, piano, many books, housewares and linens. You only need to bring your clothing when you move in.
Wireless Internet is available throughout the house, cable TV upstairs and down, and printer/copier/fax in the study. There is a security system, which tenants are required to use. There is an outdoor parking spot for one car. Washer and dryer are in the basement.
In addition to being conveniently located to many colleges and universities and Harvard Hospitals and Mass General, we are close to the Charles River, which is great for walks and bike rides. You can even walk to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox play!

NOTES:
1. The house may be rented for less if only 2 bedrooms are needed.
2. The upper floors of the house include two small apartments (former house staff) each rented to a single professional. They have a dedicated entrance and staircase.
3. Utilities charges are based on actuals, but typically run $350/mo
4. Cleaning is $195/week for 8 hours
