My Berkshires for your Five Colleges MASS

Requirements:

I need to be in the Five Colleges area next year. You need to be near Williams, or MCLA, or Tanglewood, or BMC -- or perhaps just want to be in the area. I'm hoping to exchange my sweet Pittsfield home for yours anywhere within a circle drawn from Westfield to Belchertown to North Hatfield to Holyoke!

I own a lovely, solid, comfortable cottage home. The first floor is open - with a working fireplace in the living-room area, connecting to the dining room, and opening around to a nice sized kitchen that's big enough for two meal-crafters. Upstairs there are two very roomy and bright bedrooms, the full bathroom, and a wonderful office with two desks (each room upstairs has a closet). One bedroom has a queen sized bed, the other currently holds a single. There's a washing-machine and dryer in the basement. The enclosed front porch and private back deck are both set up for reading/relaxation/congregating.

My house is in Pittsfield's nicest neighborhood. This tiny city is the centrally positioned in beautiful Berkshire County. Great Barrington is 1/2 hour to the south and Williamstown is an almost equal distance to the North. In between those two well-loved local destinations are lakes, waterfalls, world renown sites for dance, theater, and music, as well as some seriously notable museums.

The neighborhood is considered one of the safest in town. The human neighbors on all sides are wonderful. The animal we've seen in the neighborhood (and have not bothered or been bothered-by) include bunnies, foxes, bobcats and bears, hawks, falcons, egrets, loons, owls. Canoe Meadows, a wildlife preservation area for hiking is walkable from the house. In the opposite direction, about as far a walk away, is a good independent coffeeshop/lunch place, an ice cream shop, a pharmacy, Bakery (that also makes the best pizza around) and a UPS store. The local Library is great, there are a number of excellent local restaurants and breweries, and Pittsfield can also boast of a downtown movie theater - Beacon Cinema.

Get on the highway in nearby Lee and make it to Cambridge in about 2.5 hours. Get on the Taconic and the drive to NYC is about 3 hours.

You own an apartment/cottage/house somewhere in Western MA further east than where I am that you can swap for the 25-26 academic year.
